Compliance

Compliance

Piece & Quiet is a marketplace that connects buyers with sellers and routes every transfer through licensed firearms dealers — it isn't a dealer itself. Compliance is built into how the platform works, but the sellers, the dealers who handle the transfer, and you, the buyer, carry the legal responsibilities. Here's how the pieces fit together.

How the platform is built for compliance

1
Verified sellers. Sellers are either licensed FFL/SOT dealers — whose license we verify before they can list, with listings marked "SOT Verified" — or private individuals lawfully transferring an NFA item they already own. Either way, the seller never hands you the suppressor directly.
2
Every sale runs through ATF Form 4. There are no off-paper transfers. A suppressor moves from the seller, through one or more licensed FFLs, to an FFL near you, and you complete a Form 4 — with a background check and federal registration — before you can take possession.
3
Restricted locations are blocked. Checkout won't send a suppressor to a jurisdiction where civilian ownership is prohibited.
4
We hold neither funds nor items. Payment is processed by our partner GunTab, which acts as agent of the seller; Piece & Quiet never takes possession of a suppressor or holds your money.
5
Licensed professionals complete the legal steps. Your receiving FFL runs the NICS background check and won't release a suppressor that isn't legal where you are.

Where responsibility sits

To be clear about what the platform does and doesn't do: we facilitate the connection and the workflow, but we don't guarantee that any particular transaction will be approved or is legal in your situation. Sellers are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their listings. You're responsible for confirming you can legally own and use a suppressor where you live, and for providing accurate information to your receiving FFL and the ATF.

Reporting a concern

If you believe a listing or seller isn't compliant, email us at contact@pieceandquietmarket.com and we'll review it.
